Jose Llana

Jose Llana was most recently seen as The King of Siam in Lincoln Center Theater’s Tony-Winning production of The King & I starring opposite Kelli O’Hara and headlining the US National Tour.

Training: Manhattan School of Music.

Broadway credits include: Chip Tolentino in The 25th Annual Putnam Country Spelling Bee (Circle in the Square – Drama Desk Award, Outstanding Ensemble Performance), El Gato in Wonderland (Marquis Theatre), Wang Ta in Flower Drum Song (Virginia Theatre), Angel in RENT (Nederlander Theatre), Jessie-Lee in Street Corner Symphony (Brooks Atkinson Theatre) and his Broadway debut as Lun Tha in The King & I (Neil Simon Theatre). Off-Broadway appearances include President Marcos in Here Lies Love (The Public Theater – Lucille Lortel Award nomination for Best Actor in a Musical), Orsino in Twelfth Night (Public Works), Adam in Falling For Eve (York Theatre Company), Gabey in On the Town (Public Theater) and Saturn Returns (Public Theater).

Other credits include: DistanceRunner in Poster Boy (Williamstown), Bill Sykes in Oliver! (Papermill), Guillaume in Martin Guerre (Guthrie Theater), Tin Man in Ballad of Little Jo (Steppenwolf Theater – Jefferson Nomination for Best Supporting Actor) and Candide in Candide (Prince Theater, Barrymore Nomination for Best Actor).

Film credits include: Hitch.

 Television credits include: Sex and the City.

Jose is also a best-selling recording artist on the VIVA Philippines label, as well as his album Altitude (Yellow Sound Label), based on his American Songbook Concert from 2015. He returned to the American Songbook series this past February.
